RFP is not a four-letter word. Responding to Requests for Proposals is one of those responsibilities that no one wants to deal with, but everyone knows has to be done. I have spent more than seven years leading RFP processes from the issuer and bidder perspective in the healthcare/pharmacy, financial services, research and tourism industries— generating significant revenues and responses.

• Collaborated with the VP of Business Development and other subject matter experts at Avella Specialty Pharmacy on 40-plus proposals last year that generated more than $20 million in anticipated annual revenue.

• Advised Cactus Communication on their bid for the Colorado Lottery account, leading to their winning the contract, valued at $50 million the first year. 

• Led several RFP processes as Director of Marketing & Advertising for the Arizona Lottery to select vendor partners for multi-million advertising contracts, research initiatives, and television drawing broadcast agreements. Guest evaluator for California Lottery's $75 million advertising agency contract.  

• Wrote a grant request that resulted in $10,000 from a private foundation for an after-school enrichment program. 

• Extensive writing and editing experience in roles as managing content editor for McMurry/TMG and as senior manager, Final Approved Copy for Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation.

• Earned a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Arizona State University (ASU), along with an M.S. in Public Relations from Boston University and a B.A. in Organizational Communication from ASU.  Won a fellowship and graduate studies grant.
